I'm Justin (he/him), and I have come from a diverse background in art, design, and community engagement. I started as a new media contemporary artist who's since been able to translate many of my creative skills in Product Design, Digital Content, and Esports!
Why have one career passion when you can have multiple? Here is a sampling of my diverse professional backgrounds:
💻 Product Design & UX Research: I have a strong desire to solve and fulfill the needs of communities and environments that needs a strong, methodical, and creative problem solver like myself. I get very excited at being able to work closely with individuals from these areas to find the best-fit, empathetic, most accessible design solution for them!
📽️ YouTube, Twitch, and Short-form Content: Watching YouTube videos and early Justin.tv (now Twitch) streams formed my childhood. It only made sense to provide support and guidance to the creators of today in providing entertainment and education to those who love to share their creativity, humor, and messages around the world! I've found my niche in making fun & data-driven thumbnail design, SEO-focused content writing, channel/talent management, and community engagement! I've since helped three channels so far reach 100,000 subscribers, and even had my contributions earn an award nomination!
🎮 Esports: When I wasn't watching videos about video games, I was playing them. And my favorite video game of all time growing up was the Super Smash Bros. series. Entering college, the Smash Bros. Esports club became my second family, as I got to engage and contribute to an inclusive, supportive grassroots community, all while being able to smack-talk close friends as I beat up Yoshi with Pikachu. My love for the sport led me to my esports career, where I've worked with notable teams such as Panda, Counter Logic Gaming, and FlyQuest!
Right now, I am currently pursuing my Masters in Human-Computer Interaction & Design! I have a vested interest in the topics of ethical design, machine learning, culturally inclusivity, and digital accessibility! On the side, I work with a variety of content creators and channels in thumbnail design and consulting.
