Summary

Wavedash 2022 is a video game and esports tournament and event that was held in sunny Oceanside, CA for the games Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Over 800+ competitors were in attendance, with an additional 2,500+ viewers that tuned in live, to see who could take home the gold in the $10,000+ prize pool.

Overview

Wavedash 2022 was their inaugural event from TopShelf Esports, and I designed nearly all visual assets needed for the event. This included the logo, social media graphics, badges, Twitch overlays, sponsored content, and apparel.

During the event, I also worked on-site, creating graphics and marketing material as needed (including results graphics, social media updates, and more). I worked closely with many of the event's leadership, marketing, and creative teams, as the lead designer for the event.

"SILIENCE" is the culmination of works from a 6-month long course required by all graduating Visual Arts (ICAM) students, where students pursue projects of their own design with support from faculty in a seminar environment.

Their projects are a culmination of what students have learned throughout their time in the ICAM program, utilizing the skills and technologies they have learned along the way, to make their own masterpiece.

'Silience' (sil-ee-uhns), coined by John Koenig, is defined by the unknown and unnoticed beauty in the everyday. Featuring 40+ student works, mediums include electronic art installations, animated short films, interactive games, virtual reality, creative coding, and more.

I co-led a team of volunteer designers in producing, designing, and printing this book, primarily helping with layout design, image sourcing, and copyediting.
