In Fall 2024, I entered my graduate studies in Human-Computer Interaction and Design at the University of California, Irvine. In our class, Design and Prototype, we were tasked to conceptualize, research, prototype, and design a wearable device that integrated AI technology in its use.
I designed Safetaste.ai, a project focused on letting users living with food allergies build trust with the food they eat. As someone who has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy, I aimed to design a possible solution for those with allergies similar to mine that allowed them to feel protected when they go out to eat new foods. The goal was to design a wearable AI-powered device that can give people peace of mind when eating out, when there's always the worry that the food they order could have traces of an allergen or unspecified allergens.
